The Knights of Alhambra, OSMA Caravan #10, installed the original outdoor Stations of the Cross and a paved road to the Shrine in the summer of 1970.
The original Stations were wooden crosses embellished with ceramics, which were replaced in 1974 with photoengraved metal plagues. These were
vandalized and replaced in 1995 by the stone monuments with engraved plaques shown in the picture. THe Stations are located along the paved road behind
the church, forming a spiritual walk to the Shrine. On Good Friday, the parish priest leads the people on the Way of the Cross using the outdoor stations.
At other times, many walk the Stations as a form of meditation.
